Rakiura, the Maori name for Stewart Island, means “Land of the Glowing Skies”. Spring 2009
It’s been a long cold winter and now we are enjoying lovely warm days and it’s so good to be able to get outdoors again and enjoy what the Island has to offer. Sirocco the Kakapo is due back for his yearly visit to Ulva Island on the 26th September until 26th October. There have been quite a few bookings to go and see him so it would be a good idea to book as soon as possible so you don’t miss out.
The Kaka are back once again and are still as cheeky as ever, they are such comics.
We are all missing the Stewart Island I Site now that it has closed down but I am here to answer any questions you may have about the diverse activities on the Island and to do bookings for you or put you in touch with the appropriate people.
